The research projects will be carried out under the supervision of two internationally renowned HEC Montréal researchers :
- Christian Vandenberghe, Full Professor in the Department of Management; Chair in the Management of Employee Commitment and Performance;
- Yany Grégoire, Associate Professor in the Marketing Department; Omer DeSerres Chair of Retailing.
Christian Vandenberghe
Christian Vandenberghe holds a PhD in Psychological Science (1996) from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and a master’s degree in Labour Relations (1989) from the same university. He taught occupational and organizational psychology at the Université catholique de Louvain from 1997 to 2003. He has been teaching at HEC Montréal since 2003 and has been a full professor since 2006. He was an invited professor at University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, France, from 2004 to 2011. He has held the Chair in the Management of Employee Commitment and Performance since 2005.
His research interests revolve around employee commitment, performance and well-being, as well as on change and supervision practices. His work has been published in various journals, including Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Leadership Quarterly, Group & Organization Management, Human Relations, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Human Resource Management.
Yany Grégoire
Yany Grégoire holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Western Ontario (Ivey) and an MSc from HEC Montréal. He joined the School in 2010. From 2004 to 2010, he taught at Washington State University, first as an assistant and then as associate professor. A member of HEC Montréal’s Research Council, Professor Grégoire has published numerous papers in major academic journals, including Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, MIT Sloan Management Review, Journal of Service Research and Personnel Psychology.
A popular instructor, Professor Grégoire has earned numerous awards for the quality of his teaching at Ivey, WSU and HEC Montréal. In 2010, he was elected Faculty Member of the Year by the MBA students at WSU. He typically teaches courses with a strong managerial orientation, such as Marketing Management, Service Marketing, E-commerce and Relationship Marketing, at all levels (undergraduate, MSc, MBA, PhD and Executive Education.
He has published extensively on the issues of customer revenge and online public complaining. He also actively researches other managerial issues such as co-branding, the use of humour by salespersons and customer experience. He is a member of various editorial boards, including Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Business to Business Marketing. His work is also regularly presented at other universities, in business circles and at marketing conferences.
